How can I help?

In this newsletter, I share practical advice as well as my insights about marketing a therapy practice.

In the past year, I've covered topics like messaging, advertising, SEO, networking, email marketing, etc.

So today instead of sharing new tips, I'd like to ask you: What marketing topics would you like to read about in future issues?

I created a 2-question survey to help you answer this quickly. Click below to share your thoughts.

Transitioning to Private Pay

A few weeks ago I had a chance to be a guest on Gordon Brewer's Practice of Therapy podcast.

Our conversation was focused on the transition from an insurance-based to a private pay practice. Gordon shared his experience running an insurance-based practice and his thoughts on the benefits of transitioning to private pay.

I offered my advice on how to do it. If you haven't had the chance to listen to the Practice of Therapy podcast, do it this weekend.

Telehealth shows higher rates of no-shows

17% of behavioral health telehealth appointments were missed between 2022 and 2023. This number is based on the data from behavioral health needs at outpatient clinics in rural Louisiana.

By comparison, only 13% of in-person appointments resulted in no-shows.

Hoarding in Kansas

Kansas ranks among the worst states in access to mental health. With the aging population growing by roughly 30% between 2010 and 2020, loneliness has increased as well.

With loneliness, the prevalence of hoarding comes into play in older adults, currently estimated at 2.5% of the general population.

How to win

In this video, Roger Martin, the former dean of the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto explains what strategy is.

Since my work with clients focuses on marketing strategy, I wanted to share his clear and thorough explanation of why it matters.

"Strategy: An integrative set of choices that positions you in a plain field of your choice in a way that you win.”

The Takeaway

This issue was dedicated to you.

I'd like to find out how this newsletter can better serve you and your business goals.

Please let me know in this 2-question survey.
